Box Within a Box

I love the box within a box Glossybox does. I keep them for storing items like sunglasses or even to use for wrapping gifts!

The theme this month was Bohemian Summer.

From the info card: What is it about the end of summer that inspires an urgent sense of carpe diem? There is an inherent sadness attached - perhaps it's the knowledge that pretty soon the weather will start to chill and foliage will morph from green to gold, and the ample summer flings and social events would soon come to an end.

Here at GlOSSYBOX, we're all about seizing the day. There's still time for that last summer vacation or weekend getaway with friends and loved ones, or to put on that daring shade of eyeshadow or bright lipstick you would never attempt in any other season. This month, we've gathered a collection of products you can use all year round (but there's nothing like enjoying it now). We hope you make the best of the last weeks of summer!

First Look!

Information Card

Anatomicals Spray Misty for Me Facial Spritz - $9

Glossybox: This facial spray is wonderful for a spritz while lounging at the beach or hiking the trails. It contains calming lavender and refreshing peppermint extracts, which help to rehydrate and revitalize skin. Suitable for normal, dry and sensitive skin.

While this isn't something I would normally buy, I'm glad to see it in my glossybox. I've always wondered the appeal behind these products and now I can find out! I've used it a few times, but our summer heat here had already dwindled by the time this box arrived, so I'm saving it for next summer!

Novex Brazilian Keratin Hair Care Treatment Cream - $4.99

Glossybox: This hair care cream is an essential preemptive treatment in anticipation of the drier seasons. It contains replenishing hair proteins to restore shine and smoothness for all hair types. Start using it now for a healthy head of hair in the fall.

For some reason I thought Brazilian hair treatments were only for those who wanted a straightening treatment. I was happy to see that this works for all hair types. I have wavy hair and I'd rather it stay that way! I've used it a few times and it's made my hair soft, but I didn't see much difference other than that. I have fairly healthy hair already though since I don't really use styling products or tools, especially in the summer.

Jelly Pong Pong Lip Blush - $18

Glossybox: A vibrant hue on your lips is the perfect accessory for the end of summer! This lip stain is made with beeswax and ceresin wax, which results in a silky, lightweight texture and hydrates like a balm while providing long-lasting color to your lips.

This was the product included in the spoilers and the reason I decided to sign up! I've been wanted to try the lip crayon/blush trend, but never got around to it. I love this color and I may just have to purchase the red one for the holidays.

Pandora's Nail Polish - $ 9.50

Glossybox: These 3-free custom nail polishes were designed exclusively for GLOSSYBOX customers! The nude shades are right on trend, the polish is opaque in two coats and dries to a glossy shine. Colors will vary.

I'm probably one of the few who isn't very big on nail polish. Lately I've been getting into Julep, but I haven't branched out much. I'm also not a pink person, so this polish is in my trade/gift pile!

Sue Devitt Triple C-Weed Pressed Powder - $28

Glossybox: Formulated with nourishing green tea and brightening vitamin C, this lightweight pressed powder controls shine and evens out skin tone while setting makeup. It's soft, natural-looking skin contained in a compact, a perfect companion to have in your purse while basking in the sun.

Before reading the information packet, I thought this was foundation and thought there is no way this will match my skin tone (I have naturally medium skin that tans easily despite my daily sunscreen use), but it's actually translucent powder. This powder is still too light for me to use right now, but I hope to be able to use it this winter or spring months.

Bonus Item: Guess Denim Makeup Bag and 30% off a Guess purchase

I just realized now when writing this blog post that I forgot to use this coupon! Oh, well!

Overall this box had a value of $69.49 without including the bonus item. I love that almost all the products this month were full-size and that they include brands from outside the US as well. I can't wait to see what's in store for the fall months!
