Popsugar Must Have - November 2013

Popsugar Must Have is a lifestyles subscription box and probably one of my favorites! This is my review of the November box.

The Box: POPSUGAR Must Have

The Cost: Popsugar has announced that the price will be increasing on Nov. 4th to $39.95/month instead of $35/month. You can save now by purchasing or upgrading to a 3, 6, or 12 month subscription at current pricing.

The Products: “Must have” lifestyle items for women selected by Popsugar editors. Categories may include home, beauty, fitness and food.

Coupon: Use code REFER5 to save $5 off your first box or SQUAT10 for $10 off a three month subscription or more

Information Card

With the holidays kicking into high gear very soon, we wanted to make your life easier with practical but swoon-worthy pieces. From a cozy wrap to a new way to remove nail polish, you'll find everything to get you through November and beyond. Of course, the season wouldn't be complete without a touch of caramel apple or pinecone scent, so look out for that as well as a few items to brighten your Thanksgiving whether you're a hostess or a guest. We hope you enjoy this month's goodies as much as we do. Let the festivities begin!

This month also included an advertisement for shopstyle.

CanvasPop Gift Card - $30

Must Have Home: Don't let all those great pictures just sit in your phone or some online album. Turn them into art! With this $30 CanvasPop gift card, make a quality canvas print to give as a gift or hang in your home. You'll know just how to answer whenever someone asks, "Where did you get that?"

Unfortunately the Canvaspop code wasn't a unique code and they have a similar offer on their website, so this card essentially has no value, especially since you have to spend at least $30 to use the code. If I use it, it will most likely be as a gift for my mother.

Maison De Monaco Strawberry & Blackcurrant Cream Preserves - $6

Must Have Food: Get your traditional French fix with this mouthwatering Maison de Monaco preserve. Hand-cooked in San Francisco in small batches and made from 70% fruit, the strawberry and blackcurrant jam will become your go-to spread all year long. Its light texture makes it ideal for drizzling over waffles, toast, cheeses, or even ice cream. The options are endless!

This was delicious! I normally eat my mom's homemade jam, but this was surprisingly just as good! I won't tell her that though. ;) My dad loves jam more than I do, so of course I saved some for him. He loved it too.

Barefruit Crunchy Sea Salt Caramel Apple Chips - $1.06

Special Extra: Three words: caramel chips. Throw in some sea salt and you've got these unbelievable Barefruit snacks baked with 100 percent real fruit. We say eat them alone when you're on the go or sprinkle them over hot oatmeal for some guilt-free goodness.

These were good, but they weren't oh my god amazing either. I actually liked the apple chips from August's box better!

Illume Candle in Nice - $15.75

Must Have Home: It doesn't matter if you've been good or bad this year - we still think you should get a treat in your stocking. Enjoy a Naughty or Nice Illume candle this time around, and fill the house with a spicy-wooded scent or a sweet vanilla fragrance. Either way, Santa would definitely approve.

I love candles, so I was happy to get one in my box! I'm hoping to trade for the naughty candle as well, so I'll have a set. :)

The Soap & Paper Factory Roland Pine Shea Butter Soap - $8

Must Have Beauty: In the middle of the craziness of the holiday season, take a minute to spoil yourself silly. We're enchanted by The Soap & Paper Factory's shea butter soap that nourishes while giving off a delicate, captivating pine scent. You'll feel as if you stepped straight into a forest, in the best way possible.

I know a lot of people were disappointed in this item because they found the scent masculine, but I actually like it. In my opinion the scent is delicate when used, just as described. The pine scent is perfect for the upcoming holidays!

Land's End Single Canvas Wine Tote - $14.50 (On sale for $12)

Must Have Home: No doubt you'll be showing up to plenty of homes this season with wine in hand. Up your party-going game with a Land's End canvas carrier that's all kinds of sturdy and practical. We especially love the two-toned touch, which is a playful take on its classic beach tote. From here on out, those paper bags don't stand a chance.

I haven't decided if I want to part with this as a gift, but I may use it as a festive way to decorate a flower vase.

Absolute! Nail Polish Remover Pads in Lemon - $1.29

Must Have Beauty: Say "so long" to cotton balls, because these scented Absolute! Nail Polish Remover Pads are a game changer. With a few hassle-free swipes of the oil-based remover, you'll be switching from reds to metallics in now time. And thanks to the convenient size, you can carry them with you just about everywhere.

I wish I would have received a different scent, but otherwise these work well. My only issue is that they may work a little TOO well as my nail polish seems to go from solid to watery koolaid running down my hands in a split second, so make sure you use them over a cleanable surface, like a bathtub. The biggest test will be to see how they work on removing glitter polishes, which I plan to try next.

Micheal Stars Wrap - $42

Must Have Fashion: Meet your favorite wardrobe essential. With its ubersoft feel and bold print, this Micheal Stars wrap is all about effortless style. Wear it as a scarf  to punch up an everyday look or as a comfy shawl when you're travelling to visit friends and family - in any case you'll be reaching for it time and time again.

I love this wrap way more in person than I thought I would from the spoilers. I wouldn't say that this scarf is the softest I own, but I love how big it is.  Bundled up, it makes the perfect scarf for Wisconsin winters and unwrapped, it makes the perfect lap blanket for those chilly situations in a theater or airplane. The print is fun as well. :)

Overall this box had a value of $86.10 without including the gift code. I will use everything in this box and I can't wait to see what Popsugar has in store for December!

Stitch Fix #1 - November 2013

Stitch Fix is a clothing subscription service for women in which they send you items based on your size and style preferences. I've been meaning to give Stitch Fix a try, but since you have to pay a styling fee upfront, I was afraid to risk it knowing that if I returned all the items, I wouldn't be refunded the $20 styling fee. So, imagine my excitement when I received a gift card in my October Popsugar Must Have box! The gift code not only eliminated the risk with a waived styling fee, but it also included a $20 credit toward my total purchase!

The Box: Stitch Fix

The Cost: $20 styling fee + the cost of any items you keep. The $20 will be deducted from your total purchase and if you decide to keep ALL the items from your fix, you will receive an additional 25% off!

The Products: 5 clothing and accessory items selected for you based on your style profile (NOTE: They don't carry sizes over 14.)

You have three days to determine which items you are going to keep or return, so keep that in mind when you schedule your fix. The last thing you want is to schedule your fix for a time when you're away on vacation only to return to realize the items in your fix don't fit and you're no longer able to return them...

Returns are free, but be aware that keep if you choose to return all the items you received in your fix, you basically lose the $20 you paid for the styling fee. No refunds are given.

This month included a "Holiday Kit" with a $50 gift card to NakedWines.com. I probably won't be using this though since they require a minimum 12 bottle purchase, which means you have to spend money to use the gift card. Also, they make it seem you can become an "Angel" and save more, but they don't let you combine the Angel pricing with the gift card and if you don't cancel, they will take $40 from you each month, so read the fine print before signing up!

Stitch Fix also included recipes for Mom's Apple Crisp, Whole Wheat Pumpkin Spice Muffins and Spinach Artichoke Cups.

Bay to Baubles Farrah Feather Collar Necklace - $32

I may be one of the few people who hates the statement necklace trend this year...While I love gold jewelry, I prefer my jewelry to be delicate rather than chunky. I would have loved this necklace if it was small feather charm for example. I love feathers, but unfortunately this wasn't for me, so I decided to return it.

Kensie Jeans Kaleigh Ankle Biter Skinny Jean in Grey - $88

I just bought two pairs of skinny jeans for $19.99 each, so while these fit, I couldn't justify the $88 price tag. I'm also curvy on the bottom, so I didn't find the grey wash on these jeans to be as flattering as the darker washes I bought. These jeans are nice, but if I'm paying full-price, I just don't love these enough to justify it.

Oxmo Dayton Sequin Pocket Plaid Cotton Shirt - $78

I asked for plaid, so my stylist was right to include this plaid shirt, but unfortunately this shirt was too short for my liking and the cut was tight where it met my hip. Even if the shirt had fit, I don't think I would have kept it. The sequin detailing on the pocket makes the shirt look cheap in my opinion and I already have a blue plaid shirt, so I'm looking to add a read one to my collection instead.

Mak B Hartford Waffle Knit Pull-Over Sweater - $58

This was my favorite item in my fix! This sweater is a gorgeous burgundy color and I don't own anything else like it. Since it was only $38 total after the $20 credit, I decided to keep this item. I've already worn it and I plan to wear it again for Thanksgiving this Thursday! :)

Sanctuary Fillip Drawstring Cargo Jacket - $108

This was another item I liked, but I couldn't justify keeping it for $108! I just wasn't sure how much I'd actually wear it, especially since the sleeves were itchy for some reason and I don't own many long-sleeve shirts to wear under it. Too bad though, I did find this item flattering on me.

Overall  I was very happy with my first fix. While I didn't love everything, I fell in love with the one item I decided to keep and I only paid $38 for it! I've already scheduled my next fix and I'm hoping with my notes to my stylist based on this fix, the next one will be even better.

Jennifer Love Hewitt Fancy Box - October 2013

I recently jumped on the subscription box bandwagon earlier this year and now I've developed quite a collection! One of the companies I subscribe to is Fancy, which offers a total of nine subscription boxes: Verbal, P!nk, Ashton Kutcher, Tyler Florence, Fancy Food, Coco Rocha, Jennifer Love Hewitt, the original Fancy box and recently Kelly Rowland.

I subscribe to five of these: Ashton Kutcher, Coco Rocha, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Tyler Florence & the original Fancy box subscription. This is my review of the Jennifer Love Hewitt Fancy box subscription.

The Box: Jennifer Love Hewitt Fancy Box

The Cost: $46.95 ($39 plus $7.95 for shipping)

The Products: Each box promises $80+ worth of products curated by Jennifer Love Hewitt for Fancy

Coupon: Get 20% off your first box or any order with code HOLIDAY this week only!

Note: Fancy does not allow returns on boxes, but they now allow returns within 30 days for one item per box in exchange for either a $15 gift card or a random item.

Pop Chomp Spatula - $12

Jennifer: Use this fun spatula to stir up your cookie batter or maybe some delicious pancake mix. Don't forget to treat yourself!

I would have preferred this spatula in a color other than pink, but it's still cute and will go to use. :)

Adorable Packaging! It states "Pour vous avec l'amour" - For you with love :)

Inside Look
French Macaron Trinket Box - $14

Jennifer: Macarons are the most beautifully delicate cookies, but they seem to vanish as soon as they're in my possession. This macaron will last forever and it's a great place to place your classic jewelry and other treasured trinkets.

This is a cute idea, but I haven't decided if I'm going to keep it or not. I was hoping that it had a clasp to open and close, like the ones on Birchbox, but alas it doesn't. I may end up gifting this one and buying the one from Birchbox. We'll see!

Steep Up To The Plate Teabag Rest - $10

Jennifer: Isn't this plate adorable? Use it as a teabag rest or even a place to keep your jewelry or new macaron box.

This was my favorite item in the box! This is adorable and will look great anywhere. In the kitchen, on my dresser or on the coffee table.

One Sweet Cookie by Tracey Zabar - $30

Jennifer: Winter is the best time for baking. These expert cookie recipes from New York's best restaurants and chefs, including Mario Batali, Thomas Keller, and Dorie Greenspan, will keep you busy in the kitchen all season long. Learn how to make everything from molasses spice cookies to "chumleys" - read to find out what's in these.

I was happy to see this book as well! It even has recipies for macarons. I'm loving the sweet thing this month.

Raspberry French Macaron Recipe - YUM

Archipelago Soy Milk Creme - $18

Jennifer: Don't let the cold winter weather take control of your skin! This soy milk cream will keep your skin soft and smelling great no matter how harsh it gets outside.

I can already tell my skin is dry, so with the winter months coming up, I'm happy to have more hand cream. I already tested it out and the scent wasn't overpowering and it made my hands soft. This was a win for me!

Overall this box had an approximate value of $84. I really enjoyed this box and loved the theme. I originally canceled my subscription with the holidays coming up, but I may take advantage of the 20% off and resubscribe. :)

Coco Rocha Fancy Box - October 2013

This is my review of the Coco Rocha Fancy box subscription.

The Box: Coco Rocha Fancy Box

The Cost: $46.95 ($39 plus $7.95 for shipping)

The Products: Each box promises $80+ worth of products curated by Coco Rocha for Fancy

Coupon: Get 20% off your first box or any order with code HOLIDAY this week only!

Note: Fancy does not allow returns on boxes, but they now allow returns within 30 days for one item per box in exchange for either a $15 gift card or a random item.

Call My Agent T-Shirt - $26

Coco: We all have those days where we're too busy to stop and chat. Let all those passers-by know that to get a moment of your time - they can call your agent. ;)

This shirt was...well, not for me. I gave this the benefit of the doubt though and tried it on, but unfortunately I will never wear it. I don't usually like saying t-shirts to begin with, but this saying isn't even me. Even when I'm in the busiest of my busiest days, I'm just the type of person who stops and chats. This is currently on my trade board.

S.O.S. Emergency Kit by Solemates - $30

Coco: There's nothing worse than a fashion emergency! This S.O.S. emergency kit includes all the tools you need to fix any kind of wardrobe malfunction or beauty bus that you could possibly run into. This is a must for big events and weekends away from your bathroom cabinet!

This was another item I wasn't too excited about...Don't get me wrong, I'm sure it'll come in handy, but I already received a pair of Solemates in a previous fancy box that I still haven't opened yet. I would have liked to have received one or the other, but not both. I also don't think this kit is worth $30. It is easily something I could have easily put together myself for a lot less and with more higher end brands. This is just my opinion though. I will most likely break this kit up and store some items in my purse or travel bag, since I travel a lot.

Basic clear bag

Here's what the kit contained:

One pair of Solemates in size classic (5/8 in)
 - I already own a pair from a previous Coco Rocha Fancy box and they are still unopened. I have no use for two, so this will end up on my trade board.
3M Classic Plus Ear Plugs
- I can't hear to save my life without my hearing aids, so if I want to eliminate noise I simply take them out...I have no use for ear plugs, so I will give these to either my dad or brother. :)
Antacid (2 tablets)
-I always keep antacid in my purse due to my severe acid reflex issues, so this will come in handy.
Advil (2 tablets)
-Another I always keep in my purse since I am migraine-sensitive.
One Curad bandage
- Always handy to have.
My Floss Dental Floss (one-time use packet)
- Another item for my travel bag.
Blistex Medicated Lip Ointment
- Ugh I hate that this is a packet. I may just toss it.
LA Fresh Deodorant Wipe
- I was pleasantly surprised to find this brand in the kit! I haven't tried their deodorant wipe yet, so this will go in my travel bag.
LA Fresh Insect Repellent Wipe
 - Another LA Fresh product I haven't tried yet! Seeing how it's November though, I'll be storing this away until the summer months.
Shout Wipe
- I usually keep a Shout wipe in my purse, so this is another product that will go to use.
Diamond Wipe Towelette
- I've seen these at restaurants that serve wings. You are able microwave them or store them in the fridge. It's basically a moist paper towel.
Jo-Sha Peppermint Wipe
- This wasn't included on the list of items on the back of the box, but itt did state that I was supposed to receive a nail clipper that wasn't included, so maybe they included this instead. Either way, I'm fine with more wipes.
PDI Nail Polish Remover Pad
- This was another item that wasn't included on the list on the box. It will go to use, but I will probably grab the LA Fresh nail remover pads from Bojour Jolie before using this one.
Tampax Tampon
- This is one of those tampons you can get with a quarter in the bathroom, one of those cheap cardboard ones. I am not a fan, but it will get used. The organic brand I use is much smaller and compact than this one, so I'll be storing it in my bathroom rather than my purse.
Pocket Tissue
- I can always use more of these for my purse with the winter months coming up.
After Dinner Mint
- I ate this right away and I'm pretty sure it was old...it tasted just like those candy canes we forgot about from last Christmas, but ate anyway.
Comb & Nail File
- I threw these out. I have thick hair, so this cheap comb will not cut it. I also can't stand how those cheap nail files feel. I think they do more harm than good.
Bobby Pins, Safety Pins, Elastic Hair Band
- All useful items.
Easy Mending Kit
- I can't sew to save my life, so this really doesn't help me that much. Even my boyfriend knows how to sew a button on his coat, but I don't. #fail

Satechi Ucharger - $15 ($9.99 on other sites online)

Coco: Charge your phone, iPad and any other USB device 2 to 4 times faster with this awesome high-speed charger. I'll never go back to normal charging again.

I don't find that I need any of my devices to charge any faster, but maybe that's because I don't own an iPad and charge my phone at night. I did use an iPad for work last year and while the battery lasts long, I did find that it took forever to charge once it did run out. You can also use this device to charge your iPad on ANY computer! This would have came in handy when I used it for work. I plan on getting an iPad at some point, so I'll keep this for when I do. I'm also surprised it's listed for as low as $9.99 on other sites!

Emergency Break Glass Money Box - $15

Coco: Saving up a little cash has never hurt anyone. Start putting those loose coins away every day and you'll be loaded in no time! Until you decide to break in and spend your earnings, that is.

I thought of my boyfriend when I saw this. He uses a money jar from when he was a kid that's currently overflowing. This will be a upgrade for him, so I may gift it to him for Christmas. My brother and I have identical money boxes in the shape of a red British phone booth that we bought on a trip to London back in 2009. :)

Head Massager by Kikkerland - $15 ($4-$5 on other sites)

Coco: Use this head massager to scratch your head and relax your whole body. A great treat at the end of the day!

These do feel nice, but I find that they hurt after awhile. Does anyone else feel this way? Maybe I'm just weird. I also think Fancy's pricing is extremely off here since I've seen these sold for $4-$5 in numerous places. I wouldn't pay $15...

Overall this box had an approximate value of $85.99, but the value to me really was less than what I paid as I will not be using all the items. For this reason, I decided to cancel my subscription for the time being. I find that lately Coco's boxes just haven't been for me. I'd rather purchase the items I like individually.

Fancy Box - October 2013

I recently jumped on the subscription box bandwagon earlier this year and now I've developed quite a collection! One of the companies I subscribe to is Fancy, which offers a total of nine subscription boxes: Verbal, P!nk, Ashton Kutcher, Tyler Florence, Fancy Food, Coco Rocha, Jennifer Love Hewitt, the original Fancy box and now Kelly Rowland!

I subscribe to five of these: Ashton Kutcher, Coco Rocha, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Tyler Florence & the original Fancy box subscription. This is my review of the original Fancy box subscription.

The Box: Fancy Box

The Cost: $46.95 ($39 plus $7.95 for shipping)

The Products: Each box promises $80+ worth of products from Fancy

Coupon: Get 10% off your first box or any order with code FOLLOWUP10

Note: Fancy does not allow returns on boxes, but they now allow returns within 30 days for one item per box in exchange for either a $15 gift card or a random item.

 Midnight Clutch by Emilie M - $50

The Midnight Clutch from Emilie M is a day-to-night staple that fits all of the essentials.

I love this clutch! I was just thinking about how worn my other Emilie M clutch is getting and now I have a new one. The material of this one is much sturdier and it has extra pockets, which I love. It was also made exclusively for Fancy!

Prepara Chef's Basting Set - $20

Baste like a chef! With this Basting Set from Prepera, you'll be more than reading to cook up hearty meals to keep you warm throughout the fall season. Use this to baste a big turkey or chicken, or to brush some melted butter on freshly baked bread or pastries.

This is perfect for the upcoming holiday season! I actually don't have a turkey baster, since I've always visited family during the holidays, but I hope to entertain at my house one day. :)

Cake Lighter - $50

You'll never go back to plastic lighters again. Keep your Cake lighter in it's leather-embossed case if you really want to show off.

I can't believe this is worth $50, but I can't find it anywhere else to verify the price. A lighter always comes in handy, so I'll be keeping this in the kitchen.

Miniature People - $15

Get creative with your mini people - and don't forget to take photos. See the mini people postcard for instructions on how to enter to win the Fancy Mini People Contest.

Okay, so I have a slight fear of miniature people. I find them very creepy. Does anyone else feel this way or is it just me?? I might give the contest a shot and then these are going somewhere where I can forget they exist.

Overall this box had an approximate value of $135. I love that Fancy includes exclusive items in their boxes and I hope this trend continues!

These boxes are Classic with a Twist, Bombshell, Boho Glam, Modern Beauty and It Girl. You are able to view the products each month on the 20th and have until the 24th to make your selection or skip if you don't like any of the boxes. This month's theme was Right at Home Collection. Since I wanted the lip primer, I decided to go Modern Beauty and three add-on polishes to get the best deal.

The box: Julep Maven

The Cost: $19.99/month with free shipping or $54.99 to upgrade to the entire collection. This month they also had an ultimate upgrade with all the lip glosses included for at an additional cost.

Holiday Catalog!

The sample this month was for Julep's Luxe Repair Serum with a 30% coupon with code LUXE.

Modern Beauty Box:

Julep Lip Gloss in Timeless (Sheer nude gloss) - $17.60 ($22 if not a Maven)

This wasn't the gloss I wanted, but I went with it thinking I'd be safe with a nude. I wanted either Posh (Sheer Black Honey Gloss) or Daring (Sheer Bright Red Gloss Luster), but unfortunately you could only get Daring in the Ultimate Upgrade Collection, which included all lip glosses. You couldn't even get it in the regular upgrade! In addition to that, I didn't want all the colors in the Bomshell box that offered Posh. I was really disappointed at the lack of flexibility regarding the lip glosses. Adding a gloss on would have cost extra, so I went with the basic nude in Modern Beauty.

Julep Blank Canvas Plumping Lip Primer - $17.60 ($22 if not a Maven)

I've been meaning to buy a lip primer, so this was perfect timing!

Add-ons:

Julep Cynthia (Desert Sand Microglitter) - $11.20

I loved this gold look for the upcoming holidays and I actually didn't own any like it! It will be perfect as an accent or paired with other colors.

Julep Aisha (Wildberry Purple Crème) - $11.20

This color looks way more red in person than purple, but it does have purple undertones. I just wished it looked more like the purple in the pictures. It's still a very pretty color though. Perfect for fall and the holidays.

Julep Autumn (Burnt Red-Orange Multidimensional Glitter Top Coat) - $11.20

This color is perfect for the holidays and will look great as a top coat on many of the fall colors.

Overall this box had a value of $68.8. Not bad for the $34.96 I paid with add-ons! I'm loving the fall holiday colors.

Tyler Florence - October 2013

I recently jumped on the subscription box bandwagon earlier this year and now I've developed quite a collection! One of the companies I subscribe to is Fancy, which offers a total of eight subscription boxes: Verbal, P!nk, Ashton Kutcher, Tyler Florence, Fancy Food, Coco Rocha, Jennifer Love Hewitt & the original Fancy box.

I subscribe to five of these: Ashton Kutcher, Coco Rocha, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Tyler Florence & the original Fancy box subscription. This is my review of my first box from the Tyler Florence Fancy box subscription.

The Box: Tyler Florence Fancy Box

The Cost: $46.95 ($39 plus $7.95 for shipping)

The Products: Each box promises $80+ worth of products curated by Tyler Florence for Fancy

Coupon: Get 10% off your first box or any order with code FOLLOWUP10

Note: Fancy does not allow returns on boxes, but they now allow returns within 30 days for one item per box in exchange for either a $15 gift card or a random item.

Fox Run Vintage Double Timer - $20

Timing is crucial in the kitchen. How often do you have multiple conquests going on the stove at the same time? Perfectly time, roast, and bake your culinary endeavors all at once - with this double kitchen timer.

This vintage timer is adorable and it will come in handy around the holidays when we are cooking for a large number of people. Good thing my boyfriend is the chef around here because I wouldn't be able to hear this timer. I have to use my phone on vibrate for these purposes.

Wide Grater by Art and Cook - $12

This wide grater from Art and Cook  is perfect for adding a burst of flavor when cooking - whether you're piling some cheese onto a dish or zesting a lemon. It's ergonomic handle absorbs shock that comes from vigorous last-minute grating, too.

I don't think I have a cheese grater, so this will definitely come in handy!

Tyler Florence Pewter Oven Mitt - $19

Protect your hands while cooking with this high quality and eco-friendly oven mitt. With holiday baking just around the corner, it will get a ton of mileage in your kitchen.

I love that this oven mitt is eco-friendly and we could always use another oven mitt. I never get why they are never sold in pairs though. Isn't it easier to have two? I've always wondered that.

Brown Sugar Pork Rub - $5

My West Coast Kitchen Essentials line refects my approach to cooking that combines culinary school technique with a passion for fresh, homey food. This rub is amazing on pork, ribs, and even sweet potato fries. It is the perfect balance of savory and sweet.

I don't typically like getting food related items in boxes, but I'm looking forward to trying this on sweet potato fries. I love sweet potato fries. :)

Waiter's Friend by Gentlemen's Hardware - $20

There's a reason this kind of corkscrew is called a waiter's friend. There is a blade to cut the foil on the tops of bottles, an integrated opener for beers, and a cork screw. It's a reliable and minimalist tool to keep in your kitchen or bring to a party.

We don't need another beer/wine opener, but this is a nice quality one, so I have to decide if we want to keep it or gift it.

Doomed Crystal Skull Shot Glass - $10 (Prices vary depending on retailer)

Happy Halloween! Cheers to this spooky occasion. Pair your pork recipes with a great bourbon - my favorite for fall.

I love Halloween, but I'm not sure if I like this shot glass or not. I may put it in the swap pile or save it for next year.

California Cabernet Marinade - $7

Based on my favorite "to go" recipe, my California Cabernet Marinade brings rich red wine flavor to beef, pork, or lamb. Use it on your steak and you'll never turn back to regular steak sauce.

I love steak, so I'm looking forward to using this as well!

Overall this box had a value of approximately $93. I cancelled this box after receiving it, but now I'm debating on signing back up. I don't want to miss any of the holiday items, but I'm also trying to save money. Decisions, decisions!
